Acharawan Chutarat

Dr. Acharawan Chutarat is a Chairperson of the Architecture Program and a Chairperson of the Building Technology and Innovation Track at the School of Architecture + Design, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. She has been a guest lecturer for the Lighting program at Wismar, Germany. She is a founder of a Lighting and Sustainable Architecture company, BioArchitek. Her specialization is sustainable design, daylighting/lighting design with an interest in visual perception. She has been elected as a Chairperson of the ARCASIA Committee on Green and Sustainable Architecture for 2019-2021. She has served on a committee for the Illumination Engineering Association of Thailand and Thai Green Building Institute. She completed her Bachelor of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University and Masters in Architectural Engineering in Lighting from the Penn State University before earning a Ph.D. in Building Technology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Jirachai Thongthipaya is a founder and a managing director of BioArchitek Co. Ltd. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chulalongkorn University before earning his master’s in Architectural Engineering with a concentration in Lighting from Penn State University. Jirachai’s s academic path was furthered by professional experiences in lighting design in Boston. His interest is in digitalization and technology in design processes.
